StellarNet has a variety of UV-VIS light sources available for spectroscopy applications.
The SL4 High Power UV-VIS Light Source is a miniature Deuterium and tungsten halogen light source that covers the 190-2500nm range. The lamp combines the Deuterium Spectrum with the Tungsten Halogen spectrum to form a single optical path. The deuterium and halogen lamps can be individually turned on or off and have a front and rear panel shutter control. The SL4 lamp connects via fiber optic cable to cuvette holders, dip probes, and flow cells, with the return signal routed to the spectrometer via SMA 905 input connector.
High Power – Great for applications that require high output power like reflectance
Dual Lamps & Shutter – The deuterium and halogen lamps can be individually turned on/off and have a front panel shutter control button for taking a quick dark spectra reference. The lamps can also be adjusted for maximum signal.
Miniature Size – Its small size of 1.5 x 2.5 x 6″ makes it a perfect match for our BLUE-Wave or BLACK-Comet spectrometers. A small footprint makes this a great lamp for bench top applications.
Portability – The combination of both lamps into one small enclosure saves money and reduces complexity to provide the ultimate UV-VIS light source for portability. 12VDC power requirements easily allow you to run off our battery pack accessories for hours of field work.
Options and Upgrades
SL4-CUV – adds an external cuvette holder that is ideal for transmission and absorbance measurements for liquids using standard 1cm UV grade cuvettes.
SL4-Col – adds a collimator for fiber optic bundles
SL4-CAL – Calibrated Miniature Deuterium and Tungsten/halogen light source for 200-1700nm range for high output power. Enables use for reflectance measurements in a single unit. Shutter button on the front panel blocks the light output of both lamps.
* Please note the SL4 can be used with a reflectance probe as it has higher ouput power. Additionally, SL1+SL3 combination lamps can be used.

Introduction The ripeness of an avocado affects its flavor, aroma, color and texture. Ripeness, however, is difficult to determine because the fruit ripens without obvious changes in external appearance. Dry matter content has been established as a surrogate for...read more
