Episodic Data Capture is a tool in the SpectraWiz software that can be used to capture spectra over a certain time period. It can be found under the “Setup” menu. For example, it could be set up to capture a spectrum every second while a reaction is occurring to monitor the concentration of species over time. It can also be combined with the optical trigger function. For example, in combustion experiments, the optical trigger could be set to capture a spectrum when the intensity of the flame reaches a certain threshold. The episodic data capture could be used to capture several of these events in a row.
