Wanted: Product Development & Support Engineer

Scientific instrument manufacturer is currently seeking a Product Development & Support Engineer at our corporate headquarters in Tampa, FL (near Race Track Rd).  This position will be a multifaceted technology position requiring experience with Analog & Digital electronics design, packaging, and software development for a variety of spectroscopy applications.  This engineer will report to the Product Development Team but will also work with the sales team to support and develop OEM customer applications.

General Responsibilities-
– Product proposal, cost estimation, and prototyping
– Product testing and experimentation for updates or new developments
– Record keeping and organization using teamwork skills
– Perform updates to technical datasheets and product documentation
– Multi-task different project duties as assigned or directed
– Product design, support, and repair for development or as needed
– Products include software, drivers, web, instrumentation, and accessories
– Basic machine shop skills and 3D drafting & printing desired for prototyping

Electronics  Experience desired-
– Analog and digital design and troubleshooting
– High Speed digital electronics design for digitizers and USB interfaces
– Analog Sensor interface design for detectors (CCD, PDA, CMOS, InGaAs)
– FPGA Design and simulation using Xilinx ISE
– Printed circuit board (PCB) schematic capture & layout design
– Soldering/repair of small surface mount parts and wire harnesses
– PTH soldering SMT (0403 package and .5 pitch) a plus
– IPC Class 2 & 3, J standard, Cypress ISR and Xilinx Vivado experience a plus

Software Experience desired-
– Python;  Linux/Raspian/ Windows
– Rad Studio; Pascal/C++ builder
– Windows USB drivers for Cypress/Linux USB drivers
– LabVIEW, C, C#, VB, VBA+Excel

Application Experience desired-
– Knowledge of Spectroscopy & Optics
– Chemistry & Chemometrics
– Colorimetry, Radiometry, & Calibration

Mechanical Experience desired-
– Packaging and design of small electronics
– Technical Drawing (CAD) and 3D printing
