2010 Press Release: “FCI” Flash Capture Interface
StellarNet
has just introduced a new accessory for measuring flashing light sources. The
Flash
Capture Interface is a perfect tool for assisting a StellarNet spectrometer in
the measurement of
flashtubes and pulsed sources where the output intensity is only for a short
time duration. Designed
specifically for measurement with a pulsed solar simulator, the FCI
instantaneously triggers
a StellarNet spectrometer for full spectral acquisition.
The FCI attaches to the TTL trigger input on any StellarNet spectrometer system.
The FCI utilizes
a photodiode to collect the flash and then instantaneously sends a signal pulse
to the spectrometer.
StellarNet Jack-in TTL trigger collects the pulse and a spectral scan is taken
on the
pulses rising edge.
The FCI’s miniature size, 0.75 x 2.5 x 4.5”, and modular design easily couples
with any measurement
setup for just about all flash capture applications.
